I'm New

Welcome

Aberdeen First Baptist Church is located in Moore County, North Carolina. The church was founded in 1894 and has remained a vibrant community of believers ever since. Our congregation is Christian in its faith, Baptist in its convictions and polity and evangelistic in its heart.  Aberdeen First Baptist is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, which is a cooperating fellowship of 47,000 churches in the United States.  Our doctrinal statement is The Baptist Faith and Message, 2000.

AFBC is best described as a conservative community of diverse people committed to applying the teachings of the Bible to every facet of living, while acknowledging our own brokenness and need for a loving and supportive church family.  Our goal  is to glorify God by the faithful preaching and teaching of the Bible, to grow believers as personal disciples of Jesus, equipping them for local ministry and nurturing a heart to contribute in getting the gospel to all people.

What to Expect

On Sunday mornings, at AFBC, you will find worship to be Christ centered and the music a mix of contemporary songs and hymns. The focus will clearly be on the Word of God and the elevation of Christ.  Our pastor will most likely be preaching through a book of the Bible, explaining it in its context, while applying it to our lives in practical ways.   As for dress,  it can be described as ‘casual' though you may find some men wearing ties and ladies wearing dresses.  Whether you decide to dress up or down, know that you will be welcome at Aberdeen First Baptist Church.

PARKING: Currently, our main parking lot is under construction.  We anticipate its completion sometime in September.  You can park along Montford Street and in the lot on the corner of Poplar and Montford.  There is some parking also along Poplar Street behind the church building.  We are currently using the old Aberdeen school parking lot as well.  This lot is located one block south of the church building across HWY 1.  You can park there and catch a shuttle to the church for Sunday School and/or worship, and catch it back after worship.  You can also utilize the tunnel under HWY 1 and walk on a pretty day.  It is only about a 5-7 minute walk.
